Everyone’s been blogging about Google’s archive of Life’s images. To add to the blog-o-verse, lovely images of the famous Egyptian dancer, Samia Gamal. From the hey-day of middle eastern dance glamour. Yes, I picked the one with the Lebenese headache for you, Lane. Thanks to Ozma for cluing me in.

I’m in love with this simple series of black and white photographs of chefs and their food, by Richard Moran.

Steven Schofield’s portraits of convention goers in their home environment, in costume. Most excellent and a great way to pass a Tuesday afternoon.

I was looking for images of water on flickr to lift some texture for a design I’m working on and I found this shooter. It’s taken during Thingyan, the water festival before the Buddhist New Year in Myanmar. The rest of his collection is worth a look.
I just found this amazing photoset on Flickr while looking for photographic tone samples.
I posted some of the images from Jeff & Alyska’s wedding on my flickr account. They’ve already got them, but in case y’all are curious. Not that many. There’s an adorable one of bloodlossgirl and her man (at least I think it’s her man, I’ve hadn’t actually met him until then). Still working out the workings of my G6. I like the one of Alyssa looking straight at the lens just before they’re about to say their vows. She looks so peaceful and assured.

This is the advent of pictures in my lj… let the mayhem begin! Muhahaha!
My sister and I travelled to troll land this weekend, aka, the lower peninsula to hang out with my parents (they met us there) and my Aunt Marilyn.
We also walked the Mackinac Bridge, which is a phenomenon that only happens on Labor Day every year. It was my fourth time across it – and less eventful than the last. Last time my back cramped up and they ended up kicking people off soon after we finished crossing because the winds were too strong. Beautiful weather this time. More pictures at my shiny new flickr account.
I got to see my first malamute, and fell positively head over heels! A guy had 150lbs of one walking around Mackinaw City. It came up to my waist! It was fuzzy and nuzzly! He plopped right onto my feet and I got to give him tummy rubs!
Other than that, I took naps, played cards, and watched cheesy dancing movies with my Aunt Marilyn – an obsession I didn’t know she had! Maybe it’s genetic – I love them too!
On the way back my sister and I stopped along the Lake Michigan shoreline in the UP and fed the seagulls.
Good times had by all!
