Beautiful Noise.

B and I went to see Beirut at the Portage Theater in Chicago last night. I’m not usually up for a long, late-night drive on a weeknight, but this was well worth the effort and residual Friday morning sleepiness.
It was beautiful, beautiful noise. I wanted to sink into the sway of it and just stay there – smiling and waltzing. Here’s an interview and recording session from October 3rd, for a taste. The whole show is being broadcast next Friday. When I have a link, I’ll pass it along.
I also picked up the new disc, The Flying Club Cup, at the merch table. It’s divine. More French than Balkan this time.
